This is the bike serial # info:
"PF" (this mark is separate from the serial # and i don't know what it means...
600ELWC 89020:
600=60cm frame. E=longest fork length ("A-E"). L=Waterford. W=Waterford factory. C=March. 89=1989. 020=20th frame off the assembly line in March, 1989.

I am the second owner. I bought it in 1992 in Savannah, GA from the original owner. I have ridden it probably about 20 times since then. The wheels/tubes are not original (replaced 2011), and it does not have the original seat. I am not sure if the wheels are original or if I replaced them. They are Mavic wheels. The seatpost is not original, as I needed one that was much longer so I could ride the bike.

The bike is in great condition, except the rear derailer has big scratch marks in it....it is hard to read the Shimano 600 markings because of it. The derailer and the rest of the drive train work great. I just rode the bike yesterday for the first time in about 15 years.

I believe the "L" indicates OS tubing (which, on a 1989 Waterford built Paramount, would have been True Temper seamed, butted, chromoly). Everything else in the serial number you have right.

Strictly guessing from your description (and without detailed photos), I'd say you should expect it to sell for $800 - $1,000 assuming the frame is straight, no dents, no corrosion, nothing stuck (stem, seatpost) and very good paint.

This website said I should resize the photo to 80 pixels max, which I did. Obviously, others are posting larger photos. Originally the photo I tried to include was not allowed as it was too big. Anyone know the largest size photo that will work on this site???

I replaced the tires and tubes, and the seatpost, as I needed a much longer seatpost than what it came with---which is one reason why I am selling it-the frame is too small for me.
The only major cosmetic damage is scratches on the Shimano 600 rear derailer...it is difficult to read the logo because of the scratches-the whole drivetrain works very well. I rode this bike yesterday...

Use a hosting site for pics. $800 to $1000 is really optimistic IMHO. And with a 600 drivetrain, I don't see it (I have a 1985 Paramount, all DA, bought it from a local flipper). I hope I am wrong.

I sold my '89 waterford paramount w/ full period dura ace for $700...about $100 less than I really wanted but I didn't have many offers on it beforehand.

The 80 pixel limit is for the avatar, not attached photos.

I believe the maxumum size for an attached jpg is around 100 kilobytes. If you resize to 90 kB you should be able to attach it.

To attach a jpg to a post, click the "Go Advanced" button, then scroll down to Attachments and click the "Manage Attachments" button. You can then upload the jpg you want to attach from your computer hard drive.

Looking at recent completed eBay listings that resulted in sales, I'll have to revise my estimate lower to ~$500 - $700. I guess it's the economy.

PS-I was wondering if the "PF" was the frame builders initials??? I read that some of the Waterford's have the frame maker's initials put on the frame.

I wouldn't be surprised; I know that my 2007 Waterford RS-22 was built by Dave Wages. At NAHBS a couple of years ago I asked Dave if it was possible he had brazed my frame, and he told me to look for the letters "DW" on the bottom of the BB shell. Sure 'nuff, there it was. I'm not sure when the practice started, but I can't think of any other reason PF would be stamped there.
