Since it's not getting any interest - I thought I'd explicitly ask for opinions.

I saw this in the sales section and it is a fine bike. My opinions:

1. big bike - hurts value
2. components are not original or period correct - hurts value
3. missing down tube decal - hurts value
3. Paramount prices are depressed relative to a year ago

So basically I think your $1700 asking price is just too high by quite a bit. The frameset is nice but it is big and that hurts value. Almost nothing is original or period correct and that hurts value. I think a more realistic price is probably going to be around $1200 or so. All my price knowledge comes from Ebay where I do a LOT of business and track almost every vintage bike sale. Paramounts have generally been selling for under $1000 and even real nice original ones aren't going for much more. Chrome adds some but also limits your market since quite a few people aren't into the all chrome look.

Hope this is helpful.

I'd take it back down to the frame/fork/headset & sell it on Ebay. The components you have on it are nice but are not original/period correct.

Wasn't this frame a late night buy it now purchase?

I definitely agree with you on the components. The size does limit buyers - but for the buyer who needs that size... I am considering reselling her as frameset. Yes it was a midnight BIN. I enjoyed buying/building the Paramount but it's not my typical rider. Ironically, I chose it to sell because I hoped it would bet me closer to the $ goal I need for my next acquisition. If I had more room and no spousal veto on spending I'd keep the bike and buy the other outright.
