Razesa bike with reynolds 531 and zeus 2000 fork - worth an upgrade?

Hello there,

I just bought a Razesa vintage bike, with "reynolds 531 butted frame tubes" decal and a Zeus 2000 fork and dropouts. It was only 60 euros, so that was the main reason for me to buy it, because the derailleurs and brakes are not any good - as far as my knowledge goes. It has Balillo brakes and the hideous Triplex professional derailleurs.

So my question to the forum is, rather it is worth to restore and upgrade it with some decent parts???

Thaks for your help!

Yup, definitely a great bike worthy of some nice components. Razesa is a Spanish bike company that makes very well regarded frames, Miguel Indurain's first Tour de France victory was on a Razesa. Zues, another Spanish cycling company, had their higher end frames made for them by Razesa. I also like the colour a lot

Yes, definitely worth an upgrade. Put some nice stuff on it, the frame deserves it. Are those tubular wheels?

Cool, happy to hear that! It was just if it is a well manufactured frame. I think it is wierd to put those parts with a nice frame and fork...

Yeah, its tubulars, (Mavic) but it's noname hubs.. Or maybe the brand is hidden somewhere! I suspect that it is the same kinda quality as the derailleurs!

I saw this earlier this morning before I went to workout and while I thought it was good looking bike I know little of the brand. I would clean and inspect the hubs you never know the could be a nice Cami clone or maybe one of the nicer Normmandy hubs that lost the foil label. Someone may have taken the good stuff but left a set of tubulars behind.

OK since this says "Butted frame tubes" does that mean everything is butted? or just the main tubes or are only the main tubes 531 sort of like a TreTubi Columbus/Falck frame?
