COLNALGO road bike
I got offer to purchase this vintage Colnago bike in Toronto.
It's a columbus frame with a geometry closer to a touring bike but please correct me if I'm wrong
Looks like the handle bar is not original.
I don't have any info about the groupsets or other components and I can't identify them from the pictures. There are no engraved decals on the shifters (not original?). The crank does have the word "custom" on it though.
Can you guys tell me what the derailers, hubs, and wheels are?
What year is it from aprroximately?
I mainly just want to use it for commuting so I think the touring frame is fine.
Is $700 reasonable for what it has?
Should I pull the trigger?
Thanks a lot and I appreciate your help in advance

Complete fake, run. Looks like an early Schwinn World Sport. That crankset is bottom of the barrel, ditto claw rear derailleur.
+1 If you can't immediately see that bike is a fake, and a dud, you might want to elicit help from a knowledgable friend in buying a bike. You run the risk of getting fleeced. I hate to see disreputable sellers out there trying to con people.

That bike is equal to what I have seen in Mexico years ago.
If you cannot tell that that bike is not a Colnago then be sure to get sound advice before buying anything.

Thank you so much wrk101, repechage, and thirdgenbird!
Glad that I ask here.
The seller posted the ad on CL a few days ago without pictures. Finally he sent me some pics just now and I was gonna see it tomorrow.
The thing is that I was gonna see it the day he posted the ad without pics but he says he was busy so we didn't meet. Wouldn't he want me to meet and purchase right away instead of delaying it a few days? I tend to think that maybe he didn't know it's a fake either??? I don't know.

The bike was posted on Kijiji last week for $200, I guess this guy is trying to flip it from the original seller. He knows it is a fake too or else he would have put up the photos. There is a re-painted Windsor Pro that someone is trying to sell as a Cinelli SuperCorsa as well but the seller has been called out on it.
Toronto can be a tough market, many under-handed sellers are out there. I suppose that is true of any large city but, yeah, tread carefully.
