Just got a 1983 Trek 500. Pretty dang excited.
Hey all,
I posted a couple of weeks ago looking for some advice and insight in used bike buying. I got some great advice and have landed myself a bike I'm very happy with. It's a 1983 Trek 500 and it rides great. I'll be using it for my ~4 mile commute. Here's a link to some pics:

I've got the lights, I just haven't mounted them yet (every bike I have gets lights since I got a ticket for cycling at night a while back...also, for safety).
I'm on the fence about fenders. I've never had them on any bike before and I don't really like the look of them. I also have a shower that I can use at my work, so I don't mind getting a little wet. But I might be changing my tune next time there's a big storm.

Vintage steel Treks are great, and Trek didn't make any low end stuff, unlike most of their competitors back then. Enjoy!

Thanks guys, she is a nice bike!
Catonec, the size is 60cm. It's a pretty large bike, but I'm just shy of 6' 4", so it fits me just right.

Would seem that this 23.6 incher would be a good bit (at least 2 inches) too small for your use....unless you have short legs or something

That's kind of what I was thinking. I'm barely six feet and and my bikes (the ones I actually ride) are the next size up. It seems I see a lot guys on bikes that look too small for them these days. But that's mostly the carbon road racing bikes with a very long seat post.
