Source foe Shimano AX pedal adapters?

Want to fire up the old Pro Miyata,

but the toe clips are lame

Where can I get bushings to fit standard pedal spindles?

AX pedal adapters are hard to come by, Ebay is your best option. If you find them they're going to pricy. Probably easier and cheaper to swap out the cranks.

+1 Ebay and expect to pay. ~ 30 year old part, long obsolete.

This set sold for $115.

This set went for $48, looked like a deal, but the shipping was really hard to understand. And from a seller with a feedback score of "3".

If you really want to change pedals your only real good option is to change the crankset and BB. Which would be cheaper and easier than finding a set of adapters. You can probably find suitable vintagr crank to match the bike for around $50 with BB. Which is likely to be less than any adapters you find which seem to go for about $100 and only show up every few months or so.

+1

Those pedals are worth money, and so are the cranks. If you want to run clipless pedals swap out the crank and keep the original stuff in a box somewhere or sell it on ebay.

Thanks for the feedback..

It's a cool bike & would be nice to keep it original. Even riding it w/ toe clips would be OK, but the metal is soft, so if you step on the toe clip, it bends down instead of springing back, and it is a non-standard attachment to the pedal....

Clip mount looks similar to the 105/600 et al clip pedals. While the 600 clip was steel, the 105 and lower clips were all plastic.

Those clips are also now out of production, but fairly available. I was buying new ones reasonably from Niagara Cycle up to about a year ago. Search google shopping, still out there, but price is up quite a bit.

I tried to answer this yesterday but explorer kept giving me trouble. You might try finding a local machine shop or even a Gunsmith who can make them for you provided you show them good pics and have the cranks and standard 9/16" pedals for them to measure.
