"Hahn Original" bicycle-any information on this name or maker????
Hi,
thanks for viewing this post. I am very new to the bicycle forum and was hoping to find any information on an old bike I found in my friends garage. The name on the front plate says "Hahn Original" and looks like maybe a rooster on the plate as well. Someone painted the bike an army green color so I can't see much else as far as identity of the bike. The rear hub says F&S Schweinfurt and what looks like Torredo.
I have searched and found nothing on the internet about this brand of bicycle. It would be nice to know what it is/was though.
Much appreciated,
Paul

I can't help, but I must say that it certainly looks very cool and well worth the time to restore.

Well, I guess it is an unknown I thought it might have been something from post-war germany with the "Hahn" name on it, but can't find any info at all. Having a 1960 hub at least hepls to date it. Is that a common hub on American bikes from that era? Not sure how to go about cleaning it up. The wheels have no tires but I sure would like to spend some time on it. Are there any recommendations for removing all that green paint and getting down to the metal?

This was a fairly common hube mostely seen on European bikes of the this time frame. Doesn't help much ID the bike though nearly every bike makers used Sachs stuff on some of there models.

Thanks for all the help on this.
With the thought of dipping the bike, will that harm the fender ornament and the front plate? For down the road (no pun intended), what tires were on bikes from that era?
Esteban32696- thanks for the search idea, that helps. I never thought it was actually a Rooster(Hahn) Bike (Fahrrad)....at least I know it is German made and with some bit of translating I may be able to get a closer idea of the year.

It has been quite a while since I posted on this bike. I have finally begun restoration but I am stuck on the cranks. The cranks are not threaded for removal so I have been gently using a gear puller but nothing is budging. There is a grease fitting on the frame above the bottom bracket and dust shields on the inner side of the cranks. I do want to keep this original and am worried I might break something trying to pull these cranks. Does anyone know how these come off? Are the pressed? The cap on the crank is threaded and screws onto the threads on the bottom bracket. Thanks for any help
