Too high at least for my market. Around here, $300 max in season. This time of year, it would be hard to move so price would be lower (or you would need to be super patient).
Large size is a negative.
Myself, during the off season, I remain patient, realizing not much will sell.

I agree price is too high in the midwest esp in winter. $250 is max I would expect.

I love this bike, but it's a little to big. But I would rather keep it than sell it that low.

I love these frames! Lots of great little details, too bad no shipping.
WHat is the 'kit'?

All original 105 with matrix rims, if 400 is to high then $400 + shipping would be way to high then.

If it were my size I'd probably pay $300. It does look pretty nice. But right now none of my stuff is selling. I might end up sitting on it until spring..

Yeah, I'm in no hurry, probably end up keeping it. I'm not doubting anyone's opinion of price but 300 is to low for me to sell

Still learning
There are virtually no 560's on c/l anywhere asking more than $350.

Out of curiosity, why do you have it on eBay with $499 min bid plus $75 shipping?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/vintage-trek...item337dcf6bbc
This is the reason why eBay is loosing its appeal IMO. Everyone asks unrealistic prices hoping to find a sucker. Just my opinion, good luck to you.

Just throwing it out there for a free listing, I'm bored at work. Would at least cover shipping and eBay fees. I'm not holding my breath for an eBay sell. But it doesn't hurt to list it.

Just curious , I see a 531 decal on your fork , the Vintage Trek site shows the 1988 560 as True Temper.

100% ignorance and lack of research when purchased.

A easy $300 bike in season. If you want more, you'll have to wait for the "right" buyer to come along.
I don't see the logic of hanging onto it if it's not your size. If you're underwater, cut your losses, free up the cash, and move on.

when i purchased the bike it didnt have any tubing decals. i assumed it was 531 for no apparent reason, other than just not knowing or trying to find out. the seat tube decal was placed over a small chip in the paint. decals are over the clear so removal is simple enough. i do appreciate the info on the tubing decals though, now its gonna bug the hell out of me until i get them changed over. i'm stuck at work until saturday morning.

You might want to consider pulling or revising your Ebay auction if the decals aren't correct. You're wide-open to an "item not as described" dispute.

i ended the auction, i have to admit it was a stupid price. i lowered my craigslist to the lowest i will go at $350. think i might post for a frame swap on the c&v.

I don't really have to be told to do that, now that I know, the correct ones will be put on. Honesty was never the issue, ignorance was to blame.

For reference I sold a 1987 560 Pro, same color, 22 1/2" (57cm) frame which was Reynolds 531 around this time 2 years ago for $325. In SoCal. Your frame does look very large. It may be 23" C to C but probably it's 24" C to T. Check the SN against the Trek website. +1 to Thinktubes advice.

I'm at work so I can't measure, but I'm almost positive it's a 23" all around.

Well it's not a 22 1/2" frame so looking at the catalog the next size is 24" which means it's almost 61cm Center to top. Just my size!! How does it ride? Never been on a True Temper frame.

This is a great bike and the frames do have a lot of great detal guality to them. IF you must sell mentioning that it is a 531 frame hand built in america may help. With the nice components and wheels truely ready to ride $400 is not out of the realm for this bike. The issue is nice Treks are pretty common on CL an right know it is out of season so at this time off year only expect $300. Nicely cleaned up and well presented come peak sales season in early spring it should sell for the $400 maybe more in a hot market right know one is lucky if they can can get any road bike to sell for 60 cents on the dollar in most markets and stuff over $300 value just is not happening.
