a bike is worth what you can get for it. in Boston the flippers get over $120 for college kids who need commuters. I got mine in CT for $20 and had to overhaul everything. a couple years later I drove to NY and paid $200 for a newer cromoly version, couple years later I'm on to another bike altogether ... so I would say cuz it's not cromoly somewhere between $20-$120

Really nicely set up very good ready to ride condition. $150-200 depending on market. Not that a lot of this price comes from condition any condition issues at all on a bike like this and the price goes down fairly quickly as others have said these can be found for under $100 if the have condition issues.

Other than a few minor paint scratches And bad tires.there is nothing wrong with the bike. Fresh grease, new cables, and rust free. Rides very nice.

If you want to sell this or pretty much any bike for good price it will need to have good matching tires rubber.

That's a sharp bike , with new rubber (a big help with selling) , I would ask about $200 , maybe a hair more . I recently bought a pair of 27" tires from Niagara Cycles for under $30 shipped. BTW, are you going with black or white tape ?

Black tape, I thought the white tape wouldn't look right with the older white hoods

Are the upgrades a plus or should I leave it original? I know if it were a little bigger I'd keep it the way it is.

I was thinking black tape also, because of the hoods. As far as originality , I would go back to the stock set-up , but to each his own. Also, blackwall tires would look sharp on it , I believe. Good luck on the sale!

For the most part the upgrades are good. One thing is the bars dont't really match the bike or components it would look mutch nicer with classic curved drop bars exspecially ounce nicley taped.

Unfortunately it's missing the original spoke protector, chain guard, handlebars, and brake levers. As is it is worth about $100 with the original components it might be worth double that.

I have all the original parts, that comes with the bike

1974 was the first year for the Le Tour, that bike would be worth more to a Schwinn enthusiast then the general public, but only in as all-original condition as possible. If you have the original parts I'd definitely reinstall them.

I figured it would be easier to sell with updates parts. I hate the look of the chicken wing brake levers and stem shifters. I have it on Craigslist, I will probably set it back up to original. Did those have plastic bar tape?
Thanks for the reply.

Those bikes came from the factory with black "flexon" tape, made for Schwinn by Hunt-Wilde. You can see the black tape on the original catalog page:
That tape is pretty easy to find on eBay, here's some for a reasonable price: https://www.ebay.com/itm/300797202578

To '70s Schwinn-o-philes the early Le Tours are considered collectable, especially when they have excellent paint and decals which looks to be the case here. That bike was sold right after the peak of the bike boom, and was a first 10-speed for many. I think the nostalgia factor is strong with the '70s Schwinns. Original is best for value. If the paint/decals are excellent and you put it back to original, you might consider selling that on eBay to reach a wider audience. Here are a couple of examples recently sold:

I have it up for sale with the upgraded parts and the original parts as an option if the buyer wants them. If I sale it and the buyer doesn't want it you can have it.
