2006 Motobecane Legacy Team 853 Reynolds Frame and fork

Not really classic or vintage but I'm considering buying this frame to build up, looking for any info on this frame as I'm not familiar with the Asian Motobecanes. Wondering if anyone owns one or has owned one or ridden one. Seems like a good buy but don't know anything about this model frame.

Thanks

Kinesis, primarily a manufacturer of aluminum frames & forks, purchased the rights to the French Motobecane name & styling. Motobecane the French company got out of bicycles long ago but now makes scooters under MBK.

I have no experience with the Kinesis steel offerings, but $150 is a steal for a decent 853 frame with Easton carbon fork. I'd jump on it before anyone else does.

That steerer must be 2 inches too long. Makes the headset look crazy...
Price is pretty good, assuming you can do the work yourself.

+1

Too bad they didn't leave it longer, and set it up threadless. It's a good deal, but I'd need to know what's going on with that fork/headset before buying.

Even if you had to replace the fork, I still think it's a good deal, assuming all else is OK. Apparently price reduced from $175.

Original spec fork was Reynolds Ouzo Pro: https://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/B...Team&Type=bike
