Pricing my Shogun
Looking to get a value ony new Shogun 400. I not very fimiliar with Shoguns and was hoping some of the experts could give me a value on this bike. I can post more detailed pictures if needed. I'm not sure of all the specs, it's an '83 12 speed model with shimano z? Shifters, derailers, brakes, sakae crank and alps bars.

Still learning
IMHO, with a bad photo, old tires, and a tired appearance, maybe $60.00.

400 specs changed every year. This one is a basic one (I had a 1986 that was much nicer).
Half of whatever you get will be based on your marketing skills. Preparation + Presentation = Price.

I'm gonna get some new 27x1 1/4 rubbers, clean it up, tune it up and maybe clear coat it an ride it like its stolen. I was just kinda curious on what these go for. They are hard to find in my area, or at least since I started looking. I picked it up for $5, so either I'm in the black.

In great shape, $150. Later versions are worth quite a bit more. Uncommon does not = valuable. Some brands and models are uncommon because they didn't sell well. There were hundreds, if not thousands of Japanese branded bikes during that era. Far too many brands to capture enough market share to be common.
Pretty much all the brands were pretty decent, most made a complete line of bikes, from very basic to great.
