Need Help Identifying My Old Bicycle!

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum, and I'm trying to find out what I can about my old bike. My grandfather bought it for me not long after I was born, and after I moved on to ten speeds and such as I got older it sat in a shed and rusted. At some point in 72/73 or so my mom and grandfather painted it candy red, and took off the banana seat. It had a yellow/orange with gold metal flake banana seat with a matching padded sissy bar. Where I can see under the red paint, it looks like the bike was an orange/yellow metallic that faded to blue metallic. On the chain guard it says "SAND SCRATCHER X17". It has a redline front tire, and a relatively knobby large Goodyear rear tire. The rear mechanism and axle say Bendix, the front brake is stamped in French. The front emblem is missing. I did find a sticker under the seat on the tube with enough paint worn off to determine that the sticker had a red band at the top, then a thin silver band, then a gold band with silver stars, another small silver band, and a blue band beneath that. I'd greatly appreciate any info on my bike!
Thanks!
Woody

Reminds me of my mid-70s Western Flyer, forget the model name, looking for it.

Here's the pic. It was a Solar Flyer. I'm guessing about 1974. Pretty sure it was in stock config in this pic.
