Good deal on this older Specialized road bike?

A local Craigslist seller is selling this Epic for $400 OBO. It has Shimano 150 parts. I like the lugged frame and I'd get some mileage out of the current parts, but I'll eventually start on the upgrade path.

My Gary Fisher hybrid was recently stolen. I haven't purchased a bike in over a decade. Thanks for any opinions.

More of a $300 bike, than $400. I do spy a turbo saddle which could be sold for $40.

if you really want it, I doubt a cash offer of $350 would be turned down.

Is the frame lugged steel or carbon fiber? I would only offer around $250 if it was CF.

fork is probably aluminum.

If you want a lugged steel bike, there are probably better choices out there.

$400 for a DT shifter, 105 equipped bike? No.

I think old specialized epic is a lugged carbon frame, not steel. Not sure about value though.

CF Epics had naked aluminum lugs. This one looks all steel to me.

+1 it's a $300 bike at best. Wait out the seller. Does it even fit you?

I agree with the others. Too much.. Nice looking bike, and around my favorite year too, the mid to late 80s. If I was looking for that bike, I might would go $300.. Not looking for it.. I be hard put to go $200.. In the end, it is the buyer's call..

Thanks for the input. I happen to agree. I'd like it for maybe a beater, but that's too much.
