Coventry Eagle ??
Cute little bird… dusty but not rusty: With pictures for your amusement.
Check this out. Unfortunately it only has a 21-inch frame so its too small for me - but it might fit one of my daughters.
If you look closely you'll see that it very nicely executed one-piece wrap-around seat stay like the ones they did so well at the Carlton frame shop.
And the frame is made of Reynolds tubing.
The derailleurs are Campagnolo Velox and the rims are Rigida Chrolux (1972).
Normandy alloy hubs, Weinmann alloy brakes, Sugino alloy crank arms and Sugino alloy chainrings, Lyotard pedals and a Brooks B19 black leather saddle. Alloy bars and stem.

Coventry Eagle was the sister brand to Falcon. The Velox derailleur was very short lived, being introduced for the 1972 model year and beeing dropped for 1974. Falcon however must have bought a relatively large supply, as they were still being spec'd in the 1974 catalog. Presumibly they were still being used on the Coventry Eagles too. Regardless, their presence allows us to date it to a relatively narrow 1972-1974 timeframe.
For the most part, it resembles a Falcon Olympic (aka model 78). The notably exception is the Sugino cotterless crankset, which would appear to be a replacement. It would have sat on the cusp between upper entry level and lower mid-range. The presence of the steel rims would have kept it being considered mid-range and these were likely a concession to allow the use of Campagnolo derailleurs while still hitting a price target, which was probably about $150.

Thanks for the info.
For a 40 year old bike, it is very nice.
A few scratches and paint chips, with chrome showing through where it paint has flaked off.
I'll try to find it a new home.

That is a nice example. I believe they started off as a motorcycle manufacturer before WW2. I rode my dads Coventry eagle for a while before I realised the frame was cracked... In many places. Nice bikes though! Love the name too, very British.
