Suntour Cyclone Accushift Group
Was the Suntrour Cyclone Accushift group a well funcitioning group?
I have a very nice Schwinn Peloton frame from the late '80's to build.
The wheel set I have for the bike is Suntour Supurbe.
I am considering purchasing and installing the below group.
It is priced mid $300 on feeBay.
Any input would be appreciated.

While the group has always been good for me, this seems high. Also, if you are going to put them on a bike...NOS is an expensive way to go. When you mount them, they are no longer NOS. just a thought...

This price is just way too high even for Nos a nice set of basic accushift often refered to as accu****, should only be a $75 or so complete even then I would buy or use something else if I was building up a bike. You should be able to get really nice six speed group for well under $100.

I will pursue the Supurbe Pro.
The Peloton frame is so nice that I was considering a matching group.
I have a Supurbe Pro front derailleur, and shift levers in the parts bin.
(also the bottom bracket and crank set now that I think about it - but they may need new chain rings)
I think I will just bid in the rear derailleur and be done with it.
I will pursue the Supurbe Pro.

I have the 7000 groupset in white, I don't think mine would even come near that price, oh and the group has been extremely good to me as well.

I'm pretty excited about building the Peloton frame and getting it on the road.
I love the wheel set. I rode it on a Schwinn Premis (not stock for that bike - a later upgrade) and it was smooth as heck. I did not like the geometry of the Premis and sold the frame and all components except the wheel set and pedals.

It's too much. But nice to look at. The frame you have deserves a better group. I'd look at Cyclone or the Shimano 600 tri color parts.

I built up a frame this summer with all Suntour Sprint components. They are nearly identical to Superbe Pro. I think they are a big step up from Cyclone. Shimano 600 tricolor would be another good option.

I think I will try the all supurbe components and save the Sprint Group for another frame.
There is a custom frame builder in Newark Ohio. If I ever pull the trigger on a custom Franklin steel frame, I may use the Sprint Group.

Thank you. I have supurbe brakes, a very sweet wheel set with supurbe hubs and Open Pro rims, supurbe front derailleur, bottom bracket and crank arms, downtube shifters, and now a rear derailleur thanks to $60 and eBay.
I need chain rings, seat post, chain and cables to complete the build.
I also have a complete NOS Sprint Grouip that even includes the chain.
I think I will try the all supurbe components and save the Sprint Group for another frame.

I have the Accushift 3040 group on my '89 Raleigh Technium PRE. It is a snappy and reliable group.

This is the 4050 Accushift mini group. I was considering putting this on the Peloton frame before the advice on the Supurbe group above.
It looks like it has never been mounted on a bike.
This is the Sprint Group in the Box. I'll save it for another frame.
Will the Supurbe Group be superior to the 4050 components on the Peloton?
I want positive shifts, long life and dependability.
