I agree with every word above...to me the value is as a rider consisting of high quality frame with an effective mid-range group. I feel comfortable that I could sell it on CL for 4-500. As far as eBay, the 400ish range can be tough on eBay because of shipping charges...I generally won't sell a bike on eBay if I place its value at below $700.

I don't know your market, but I would assume it's a lot less than mine.

Thanks for all the info Snydermann! Now I feel dumb for labeling this post a 1984 Lotus haha. That's unfortunate that I don't have the seat for it, but I'm not complaining. I got this bike for free. Hopefully Incan still get some decent money for this bike, I'm not looking for huge bucks, just enough to buy myself a decent bike that fits. A guy on here pm'ed me about buying it but has not replied yet. Although I am unfamiliar with selling online, I'm sure we could figure it out. It all appears to be original, except of course for the missing seat, and pedals. Also I looked at the wheels and I don't think they are stock. The only label I could find on them said Matrix IsoC, the only other label said made in America. I'll look them up and hopefully they are worth something.

KonAaron-- I think the market around here is decent. Knoxville is home to the University of Tennessee and I always see people riding road bikes around campus. Not only around Camus I see people commuting on them all the time in my town, we have a dedicated bike lane going down the turnpike. My Craiglist is always full of bikes with new ones posted daily.

Well - it is the off season, and that is relevant as well. If it were mine, I'd toss on a spare saddle and some spare pedals...clean it up and start out at $500 ready to ride. Without the saddle, pedals, and preparation, I'd expect a lot less.

Yesterday I got I cleaned it up a little, greased the cranks, and made sure everything worked as it should. I found a seat, but the post is too small. Excuse me on my bike lingo I'm probably about to make myself look stupid, but I think the post is too small. When I put the post in the hole I tightened the post-hole (I don't know if that is the proper name for it thats why I said excuse my bike lingo)up as much as I could, and I could still just slide the seat out. So I'm going to look around and try to find a post that fits. The pedals I can not seem to find anywhere. I've looked online and I can't find any that say they are for the shimano 600 cranks. I'll do a thread count and see if I can find pedals with the same threads.

Be advised that this frame was designed to be an all-out professional racing bike. Not only did it originally have sew-up tires, it has a short wheelbase and 74 degree seat and head tube angles. It may not be the most comfortable/ideal bike to ride around campus. Maybe, maybe not. I just thought I'd mention that information.

I'm also inclined to believe that not one component on the bike is still original, even the Campagnolo Super Record headset has been swapped out for a Shimano 600. Someone did a thorough job harvesting the Campagnolo and Cinelli bits off the bike. I would be careful advertising it as "original".

Don't feel bad describing it as a 1984, Lotus made the Supreme in one version or another from 1980-1987, so it's easy to mix them up. For anyone interested:

1980-82, Tange Champion frame, Shimano Dura Ace EX equipped, available in Lotus Pink and Navy Blue.

1983, Columbus SL/SP frame, Shimano Dura Ace Ex equipped, only available in Metallic Violet.

1984, Columbus SL/SP frame, Campagnolo Super Record group with other components made in Japan, only available in Metallic Violet.

1986-87, Columbus SLX Cinelli frame, Campagnolo Super Record group with other components all Italian made, only available in Pastel Blue.

A big complaint from Lotus dealers back in the day was the limited and somewhat less-than-masculine color choices available on the Supreme. The limited color choices and sew-up tires didn't help sales.

Seat Post on my Supreme is 27.2mm, if that helps.

Oh ok well thanks for telling me that, I would hate for someone to think I was trying to rip them off when honestly I just don't now any better haha. Thanks for the information on the seat post by the way, I was about to measure it but you saved me the hassle of finding my micrometer.
I'm gonna get in touch with a friend who I know has a lot of bicycle parts and hopefully he will have a decent seat I can get off of him. I'm still having trouble finding info on pedals though. I could see why they got a lot of complaints for colors now that I look around though, they are all pretty girly colors haha. I kind of like the pastel blue though, that's probably just because my favorite color is blue though. Thanks again for all the info, and if you have anymore let me know! I don't know much about bikes at all besides how to ride one haha.
