Trek 990
Not sure what year it is the seller bought it a couple years back. It seems to be kept in good condition in the garage. Is 150 a good value for this bike ? https://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/bik/4123432710.html and would it make a decent commuter. Have so dirt trails on commute.

Still learning
It was a top of the line Trek, probably 1991. I got one cheap, but in beater condition, needs a fair amount of work. If the paint is good, I would pay that all day, as you often see lesser 820, 850, 930 asking the same amount.

Good buy if in working condition should make a nice commuter. If you buy for a commuter be sure to take the seller up on the original hard fork and don't offer more just ask for both forks at the asking price and expect to get both.

Constant tinkerer
+1 Very good price on Trek's top end steel MTB of the day.
+1 Get the original rigid fork. That suspension fork is almost certainly junk by now (if it wasn't junk when brand new...) and besides, you want fully rigid for commuting anyway.
