Colnago craigslist find.. need more info?

Found this locally:
https://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/tor/bik/4231898298.html

What do you think? worth the price of C$900 or US$850?

What is frame made of? year? model?

Thanks,

Ernesto

Available for sale here is this Colnago road bike

Late-1990's Colnago Road Bike

53cm seat tube, center to top
54cm top tube, center to center

This is one of the last of the Colnago steel frames. Beautiful, super lightweight, oversize oval steel. Beautiful lug details and full chrome straight blade steel fork.

I purchased this from its original female owner who had this frame custom ordered, hand painted and bike built directly from Colnago. Original Colnago Bar ends and handlebar tape.

I am selling this bike exactly as I received it. Unridden for years. In excellent condition.

Complete Shimano 105 9-Speed
Selcof Colnago seatpost
Selle Italia Flite Titanium saddle
Ambrosio Elite CLINCHER wheels
VeloFlex Tires
3T Handlebar & stem

$900

Nice frame; I think that's too high for a shimano 105 equipped bike even in a high dollar market. You can do better.

I am not familiar with Colnagos, especially the late ones, but I agree the price seems high. Any idea what frame it is? Was the frame actually custome built and if so is the geomentry odd? You certainly need better pics or look inperson to determine for sure if it is worth it or even fits.

found another colnago:

https://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/tor/bik/4136778218.html

Available for sale here is this Colnago road bike

1980's Colnago Sport Road Bike

56cm frame size

12 speed
Clincher wheels

I am selling this bike exactly the way I received it. It is in poor cosmetic condition however would not take much at all (if anything) for it to be rideable the way it is. It would make for a nice restoration project

Columbus frame
Chrome fork
Gipiemme dropouts

COMPLETE Gipiemme group

$250

^Yeah, it returned a "ad has expired" msg for me. That would be a great score if it pops up again, maybe after Christmas/NY?

The Colnago Sport is a Columbus Aelle tubed bike that was contracted out to some other bike company, it wasn't made by Colnago. Dunno if that means much to you, it is a fine bike, I had one, but I don't think it is worth $250. The Gipiemme parts on mine were pretty uninspiring, that is for sure.

That first Colnago looks like a C96 to me but I could be wrong. The seller has a shop on College near Dovercourt, you should go and check it out, he has a ton of amazing bikes and he is a pleasure to deal with, in my experience.

Do you know what size you need? I ask because these two bikes are quite different in size....

Is 54cm vs 56cm top tube make a big difference? I am 5'10" and new to riding, still need more seat time to find the right size (trying to avoid paying prof. fitting for recreational riding).

Based on seller's ad, I am sure he knows what he is selling and priced it correctly.

Thanks for feedback.
