Concor Sprint Saddle "Whale Tail"
Hello All:
I have several Concor Sprint Saddles ranging from NOS to thrashed. Any of you have a good idea of what these are worth? I see them on ebay sometimes with sky high prices but I don't think those actually sell at those prices.
Thanks,
Jim

I've seen them too, priced crazy high at eBay. Funny thing is, they don't seem to sell at all at the prices the sellers are asking for, so after a while there's quite a few of them just sitting at eBay unsold, sometimes for years already.
I know the whole story about them getting banned eventually from pro races because they supposedly gave racers who used them an advantage over others that don't because of the supposedly more leverage provided by the vertical "spoiler" at the back of the saddle and sellers are banking on that fact to sell them for lots of money....But frankly, I think the real reason they don't really sell, especailly at the high prices that's typically asked for them is because they look quite fugly to most people..... but I think, if one will price them for a more reasonable amount they will sell easily.

Thanks guys. I checked the completed auctions on ebay and did find one that sold in Nov for $115. That will make it worth my while to start listing mine.
Cheers,
Jim

Of course, that could have sold to the ONE guy who needed one. ebay is a funny place.
I have been watching the quilted top Cinelli saddles from the late 60's early 70's. It is humorous almost, a few for big dollars like $1,500 and used, then a fellow with a NOS one enters the market with $1,100. I think the used ones have a market at $275. (one sold for that quite a while ago) and the NOS one maybe double that, time will tell. Nothing is flying off the shelves. There is no big prize, widely known concours vintage lightweight show to bring urgency to complete a project no matter the cost.
