Zebrakenko and Schwinn Sports Tourer
First off, thanks to everyone on this forum for sharing so much knowledge all over the place. I hope to someday pay back for all I have learned here.
I have too many bikes. This Zebrakenko could be a real steal of a deal, but I found it hard to research. I'd like to know if it is worth taking up my limited space. For what it's worth, I also have a history of haggling bikes down 25%-50%, at least in this market, so I think I could get it for $50 if I'm lucky.
I bought this Schwinn Sports Tourer for $50. I'm thinking about maybe selling it, but I'm not sure if it's worth much. I also am curious about how rust spots should be dealt with if you're going to sell. Is it a good idea to try to color match and touch it up or just clean it up and apply a clear coat?
Thanks very much!

That Sports Tourer will probably get some attention in the forum, they are well liked bikes. I'm sure you can at least double your money on that one. It's a size too large for me though. I'd just list it as it sits and see what happens.

That Sports Tourer looks like a late '73 model with a 24" frame in Sunset Orange. It is missing the original Brooks B15 saddle, Schwinn Approved toe clips and Lapize straps, however most everything else seems to be original. The Nervar 40-54T crankset alone would sell for more than what you paid, so you definitely got a good deal.

It is all about condition and originality, one in very good shape. all original with the Brooks saddle can bring about 450. Mine was all original but in pretty rough conditon.

Thanks very much everyone! I'm glad I made a good purchase with the Sports tourer. I plan to look at the zebrakenko sometime and see if the components ate up to snuff because the frame sure seems nice. Thanks again!

I used to have one. Not many are around anymore. Look for an 022 Ishiwata for frame type. Mine also had the Suntour BL rear derailleur. Good components. Also, Dia-Compe brakes, downtube shifter, Sakae chainset. I paid 15.00 for it and spiffed it up.
