Late 80's Specialized Syrrus Price Check
What would be a fair price for this bike? Or just the frame with the headset and bottom bracket? How do these ride (I'm looking at it for an all around rider). I believe the frame is double butted chromoly tubing. Standard sized frame (not too big, not tiny). Thanks for your imput.

What would be a fair price for what? If I asked you what you would pay for my 66 Mustang, what would you say?

I would access the condition of your 66 Mustang and use https://www.hagerty.com/apps/QuoteMyC...les/1/Submodel to start negotiating a price.
Would $75-100 be a fair price for a frame with headset and bottom bracket for this make and vintage, assuming that it checks out okay? How about a full bicycle, with vintage era parts... would $150-200 be fair (assuming it was fully re-greased and tuned)?

I had a 1990 Sirrus for a short time , not super light but a good bike . Recently sold it for $265 , new tires , semi-professional overhaul . Good prices (for you) that you mentioned , IMO .

Just picke this 1986(?) frame up about a month ago for $50. Had a great time getting it back to running again. Been a long time since I've looked forward to spring this much:-)

Assuming it is in good cosmetic and mechanical condition, then in my area at least the price for frame, fork and headset is fair- price for full bike with components(assuming 7 speed 105?) and with maintenance you described then that would be a very reasonable price.

It's a real bike and/or frame that I have not seen yet. Hopefully I will get the chance to view it tomorrow. The owner says it's in good shape, but "good" is very subjective. Since traveling is required, I at least wanted to get a feel for whether it was worth the effort and time. If the divide between what he is asking and what I want to spend seemed too great, then I wasn't even going to contact the owner. It sounds like it is worth the effort and will see if his "good" matches my own. Thanks for your input everyone.
