Santana tandem
I have been looking for a tandem for the wife and I to try it out. There are so few around here I don't get a good sense of what they should cost. On a guess I would say I would want to pay $500 for this but it has down tube shifters instead of bar ends and the stoker bars are wrong...What do you all think?
Thanks

I currently have no SO but I always wanted tandem so I would be real tempted to jump on it.
I do agree it seems it was not as well cared for as I would expect but to some people a bike (even a nice tandem possibly bought 2nd hand) is just a bike or a summer recreational item akin to a lawnmower.

Still learning
It's a bit rough, but is a Santana. Around here sellers ask that much and more for much lesser gas pipe Schwinn and other tandems.

As a point of reference, I picked up. 95 Santana Visa in virtually original spec, excellent condition, this past Fall in So Cal for $400.00. It sat on our CL for about a week before I got it. I put a couple seats that suit us on it and we ride it every couple of weeks.
And yes, you want bar end shifters on that bike.
