Those MIJ Schwinns are nice but nothing like the Waterford era bikes. Find out what components are on it and if the owner has history with it or knows who had it originally. I would not go too much over a few hundred if it fits you.

If clean and components have life, I'd say $300. While not a Waterford, Panasonic is nothing to sneeze at! Will be a good rider and possible candidate for modernizing.

Here's what Marc Muller, then head of Schwinn's Paramount Design Group and now Richard Schwinn's partner in Waterford Precision Cycles, had to say about the National/Panasonic built PDG Series 7 and Series 5:

Are they Waterford Paramounts? No. Are they excellent bicycles? You bet! Don't listen to the bashers, you'll drive yourself crazy!

Thanks for the info. I knew I could find the catalogs online (I actually have them bookmarked) but I was curious about value and what people thought of these and how they came to be.
