Worth it?

So I'm looking for a lightweight bike easy for lifting in the city. I want a Schwinn and I'm trying to go cheap"ish" while looking for a few easy repairs. I am also 5'5''. Can I get some helpful input on this bike. Do you think its worth 100$ can it be easy fixes?Does it look like something worth working on?
Thanks in advance guys!!

Weight wise-a boat anchor-worth $100? No. If the wheels are alloy (and I doubt it) it's not even wheelset or parts fodder. Keep looking

What is your location? Sometimes it makes a diff in asking prices. For something lightweight; usually you pay a premium. The crank/wheels/stem/seatpost and bars should be aluminum (no magnet stick) If you are adament on a schwinn/you'll need to do some research=mucho info here on the forums. Match your inseam to stand over height for the size you need

I think I see a Shimano FFS (front freewheel system) and the seat looks like it would hurt one's behind. The seat could be replaced cheaply, but you would be stuck with the FFS.

This bike is a mess while original and Schwinn in a nice lemon color. I would pass unless your a hardcore fan of Schwinn metal for collectos purposes or parts. The FFS Positron drivetrain is just awfull and would likely need to be replaced completly a huge task to make it a good daily rider. Plus the but breaker seat, likely wheels and very likely bars and everything attached. As for actual value its worth $100 + for parts but I wouldn't go near it unless it was basicaly free and everything worked.

Here is a link to Schwinn Catalogs. Some of the mid to late 80`s Schwinn`s that are about 26 lbs can be found for around $100. Decent rides. Le Tours, late 80`s World Sports and Travelers.

Schwinn Catalogs by Year
