Obscure Italian mixte- your thoughts and knowledge?
This little cutie appears to have been languishing on Seattle CL for a while before I bought it yesterday. I plan to spif it up and give to my daughter for her birthday about a month from now. Probably powder coat the frame and replace decals. I have seen this brand Sedazzari before but can find little about it online. I hope you guys can share any kind of knowledge about the vintage or make. Since it sat on CL for so long I assume the value is not much.
Here are a few details to go along with the pics. It's a 10 speed with Huret dr's. Frame is steel of course, slightly ornate but appears not high quality. Tire size is 37-590. Looks to be all original- fenders, chain gaurd, rack and lights with wires passing through frame tubes. Original paint. Miche hubs, Nisi rims, Universal calipers, ITM bars and stem. The stay brace behind the BB shell is missing- it appears to have been a plate that served also to mount fender and, I assume, a kickstand. Other damage I see is just lots of paint chips. Very little rust.
Now this kind of bike is outside of my narrowly focused bike experience. Please help me learn a little about this bike and help me plan to make it as nice for my daughter as possible while keeping it's identity. Thanks!

What a nice dad.
Personally, I wouldn't powder coat it.
Clean it thoroughly and touch up the chips, overhaul it and make sure it has nice, safe tires and brake pads.
Great present!

thanks for sharing this fun find.
one doesn't run across many italian mixtes.
the frame is constructed of agrati bits; it's bulge-formed head is "am" series nr. 201.8046. seat lug is "am" series nr. 090.8059. crown is agrati "sport" series nr. 090.8058.
bell is a nice item; does it bear any writing?
any markings on hub barrels or dropouts?
handgrips look as though they may be reg, any markings?
agree it would be a shame to respray...
thanks again!

Still learning
Loop frame mixte with fenders is hot stuff. Nail polish on spots. Use some rubbing compound or Scratch X to make the paint shine. Whitewall tires, white grips, and white saddle are all it needs.

A couple of Italian mixtes have come my way, over the years, this old Chiorda being one of the most memorable. Fun bicycles, to say the least, but one might want to exercise care before spending a great deal of money to acquire or restore one...

Thank all. No chance of getting carried away given my limited budget. Also no chance of this bike ever looking as nice as those two above. Good info on the frame, @juvela . Keep in mind the bike is still filthy and my vision isnt that great, but...I don't see any markings on the bell or dropouts. Handgrips say "Plasiche Dassano." I'm embarrassed to say I don't know what a hub barrel is- the hub shells are marked "Miche."
I purchased the bike from a really nice couple who told me they brought it with them from Italy along with a much older bike with rod brakes. That one was passed down from the man's father and was not for sale. I was told they purchased the Sedazzari new 35 years ago. Somehow it seems older that 1980 to me. Randy- do you recall what year the Chiorda was?

I just noticed the forged rear drops. Perhaps the bicycle is of higher quality than I first thought it to be. Definitely worth some further investigation.

thanks for this additional information Insidious C.
a date of ~1980 looks just right for the Sedazzari as does Randy's date for his very handsome Chiorda. in looking at the Chiorda keep in mind that she wears almost none of her original fittings. she is far nicer now than she was ex-works. usual fine Randy work!
