80s Bianchi Road Frame & Fork: Value

I'm looking for opinions on a Bianchi frame/fork combo I came across at my LBS today. It appears to be a mid-80s Sport SX -- although I stand to be corrected, of course. There is apparent surface rust on some areas, particularly around the BB (not surprisingly). The head tube crest is all but stripped off. There are a few paint nicks, but nothing serious. No dents or bends in the tubing, far as I can see.

The shop is asking $195 (CND) in a market that, from what I can tell, isn't that hot.

I welcome any and all feedback/thoughts on the condition of the frame, value, etc. Thanks!

Keep looking, you can probably find a complete bike for $200 in a market that "isn't that hot"

Run, don't walk away from this frame, and maybe that LBS as well. It wouldn't be worth that much if it was NOS. Shops have overhead. Find a complete bike for your money.

I agree that seems a bit rough. One would think a shop would at least try and clean it up a little.

I think that may have started life as '86ish Limited, Sport SXs were not Columbus tubed.

Its kinda rough. I've seen that bike fully built up in Toronto, which is an expensive market, for $400-$450. And they were in much better shape.

Wow what a rip off. Is this a bike shop or a pawn shop? This is the sort of nonsense I'd expect to see at a pawn shop. A bike shop should at least clean the darn thing, not to mention ask a sane price. How much do you want to bet that stem is stuck? That's what I think when I see a bare frameset with either a stem or seatpost still in it.

Given the rough condition and level of this frame, $75 would be the absolute top for me. $50 sounds better.

If you are looking for Bianchi frame and don't mind Japanese tubing - PM me. I am undecided if I want to sell it or not (not clear yet if market will be as hot this year as it was last) but we can talk. Mine is about same size or a bit smaller though but in way better shape (excellent, close to mint I'd say).

that's codeword for "I want to sell it for more than it's worth. So offer me an inflated amount if you really want it."

Don't jump to conclusions if you don't know the full story. If I wanted to sell it for more then it worth I'd already built it up and list as "rare, vintage, you will never see one like that again" on cl or Kijiji for astronomical sum of money. I don't know what OP already has or even - I have many extras aside from the frame and may offer him a package deal.
I am undecided because I can built it as another bike for missus or swap parts from my friend's Bianchi who's frame is a tad big for him. I am not going to use it myself because I replaced it with Nishiki Superbe.
