Nice deal --offered locally sub 200 w/out ship? Just curious as I have a couple of nice 531 treks (but not 760 grade) that failed to sell sub 200 in the fall which really surprised me, will see what spring brings.

It's a nice frameset, I just wish it was a little smaller.

I know there was a post not too long ago helping explain vintage Trek models and hierarchy. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to find it for the life of me.
Could anyone chime in with a guess of what year this frame is, where it fit in the lineup and what it's intended purpose was (i.e. expert race, beginner race, touring, etc.)?
It looks like a pretty aggressive wheelbase which certainly gets my interest. Maybe someone will convince me to relieve some funds to Mr. Sloar here.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I'm pretty sure its a 1985 second from top under the 770. Which I think the only difference was the 770 had Super Record.

Agreed- pretty sure it's a 1985- https://www.vintage-trek.com/images/t...TrekRacing.pdf
Serial number would tell for sure- it should be between 236162 and 236261
Here's the SN Page https://www.vintage-trek.com/SerialNos86.htm
