The frame has not been straightened. It's as it was after the accident. I'd asked about repair. If I recall correctly the bike shop owner said it'd still be risky. A re-build by Schwinn at the time was beyond my means. The bike moved with me since.

The 36t ring was removed early in my ownership so it has hardly any wear. Seat post and stem are not seized.

If that frame still tracks straight, I'd have no compunction about riding it. I guess the shop must have been in CYA mode.

Sorry it's taken so long for me to reply. When I hit the curb the fork tube bent slightly and the seat tube and top tube bent slightly near the bottom edge of the head tube Nervex lugs, shortening the wheelbase slightly. There appears to be no damage to the front rim. I doubt there's damage to the headset raceways since rotating the fork is smooth (Phil Wood grease last application). The seat stem is not frozen, the quick releases work (what else?). Regarding the non-Campy brakes, I understand from when I purchased they are re-branded Weinmann. The front derailleur is Campy, the rear is what Schwinn put on the Touring model. The owner of the bike shop in Flushing, NY (I forget his name but he was involved somehow with the US Olympic team) where I bought the Paramount suggested the frame was compromised which I interpreted to mean unsafe. Anyway since the mid-80's I've ridden a Specialized Stumpjumper, still crazy after all these years.
Please accept my apology; my intention was not to be rude in any way. I'm confused by the rules which I read. As I understood it if I posted this in the valuation forum I couldn't then offer it for sale. I don't follow forums anymore (a matter of domestic tranquility) so I'm not familiar with posting.
I know elbow grease needs to be applied to make this bike, or parts of it, shine.

I paid $500.00 for this un-bent basket case, as a point of reference. Complete and original. 1975 P-15

Seat tube from center of crankset to intersection with axis of top tube = 22-1/2" (tube extends up a further 5/8" or so)
Top tube from intersection with axis of seat tube to intersection with axis of head tube = 22-3/8"
Down tube from center of crankset to intersection with axis of head tube = 24-3/4"
Schwinn designated this a 23" frame.

By center to center I measured where the axis of each tube intersects the axis of the adjacent tube so, to within 1/8":
Seat tube from center of crankset to intersection with axis of top tube = 22-1/2" (tube extends up a further 5/8" or so)
Top tube from intersection with axis of seat tube to intersection with axis of head tube = 22-3/8"
Down tube from center of crankset to intersection with axis of head tube = 24-3/4"
Schwinn designated this a 23" frame.

Taking a chance on this one, but I have to say great guy and a great seller to deal with. We settled on a fair price for both of us and he threw in the original Campy tools and a few other tools as well. Looking forward to see if I can turn this in to a nice rider.
