Damn, that's a steal. Someone in SC needs to get over to Horace's house pronto!
Someone's going to find out what the Colnago riding experience is all about for an unbelievably low entry fee. Cool

Beautiful bike.
I'd love to know what saddle that is. I'm looking for a yellow one and hate turbos, so my choices are limited. I like the looks of that one.

If I sell the bike, you're welcome to buy it. It's a Stratos.

The previous, and original, owner raced this bike. I prefer 14-28 freewheels.

I guess no one noticed my question on post #6 above.
From my own experiences having owned several Campagnolo equipped bikes since 1972... it is not possible to mount a 39t chainring onto a classic Super Record crankset.
The smallest chainring that will bolt up to a 144mm BCD crankset is 41t, and those are rare.
So, how is it that this bike has a 39/53 combo?

@amauri, 41t is supposed to be the smallest ring that will mount on the 144 BCD NR/SR spider. I have heard of some modified cranks for using a smaller ring, as a triple I seem to remember. We need @repechage or @juvela, etc. (resident Campagnolo expert type guys) to give us the scoop.

Nuovo Record cranksets up to the mid sixties were 151mm BCD, and 44t was the smallest chainring possible.
The Super Record crankset was introduced in the mid seventies with 144mm BCD that allowed a 41t chainring.
AFAIK, the 1985 C-Record was the first Campagnolo crankset to use 135mm BCD, a 39t chainring was the smallest.
The crankset on this bike is not modified and it is not a triple, it is a classic SR double as we can see on the photo.
41t is not supposed to be the smallest that will fit, it is the smallest that will fit... plain and simple.
No need to bother the resident experts, this info is all well documented both on hard copy catalogs from Tulio's company as well as on many archiving sites that we've all seen.
I'm not an expert but I am a mechanic and I've owned bikes with each of the three versions I listed above.
Any experienced mechanic knows these things.
