Backlog REDUX Part II: Lotus Eclair Touring Frame and Fork, 61cm, CHEAP!

The good news, here's an early 1980s (I am guessing 1984) Lotus Eclair frame set. Its the real deal as far as touring, with a mid fork braze on for front rack, braze ons for fenders and rear rack, etc. It originally came with Shimano Deore AX components. The DT braze ons may be odd with the Deore AX, I am not sure. I can include the AX DT shifters for a small additional charge, ONCE I FIND THEM!!!!

I treated this frame for rust, there were several blemishes. You would either need to be a world class touch up painter, or this one may be better suited for a repaint. The price reflects these paint issues.

I have a lot more pics, really easier to email them to you if you are interested, rather than load up a hosting site.

I treated the entire frame with Oxalic Acid. Picture looks better from a distance than it does up close! My close ups of treated rust areas are all too big. All have been treated, then sealed with rust converter.

    $85 plus reasonable shipping.

Shipping outside the continental USA is expensive. If you want to attempt it, do some research on your end, shipping from North Carolina to your location. All the shipping calculators are on line. Box size girth plus length will either be 108 inches (very careful packing), or 132 inches. I have successfully packed frames this large into a 108 inch box, but it was a lot of work, and it was not a touring frame. Weight will be around 16 to 18 pounds (almost all of it is the packing material and box). In the continental USA, weight up to 20 pounds ships for the same rate.

If this is from '84 it has the Shimano B type shifter bosses. Whoever buys this would be doing themselves a favor by also buying the Deore shifters.

If you are interested in the AX parts, its going to take a while, as they are at my other house (another state). Part of the challenge of having a two year backlog of project bikes, with bikes, parts and tools scattered across two states. Hopefully we will be consolidated into one state in about a year, if I ever get the home restoration project done (four years into it so far.....)

Watch for MORE frame sets! As one moves on, I'll pull out another one, and repeat until I get some sanity around here. A two year backlog is just too damn much!!

Thanks Hong. I am going to try to post them one at a time. If one doesn't move, I'll pull it down and try another.

Still available! Buy this one now so I can post the next one!!

OK, re-popping this one to go with the other 25 inch frame sets I am posting.
