wtb: 80s bike or frame, prefer orange color.

Hello everyone, as the title states im on the hunt for an orange bike. I would like to stay in a budget of between
$100-500 and either a full bike or a frame will do. The size im looking for is a 55-56 cm but might be able to swing a 57. Of course said bike must be steel, can be reynolds 531, some type of columbus or tange. i might go for a different color and if you have something with chrome lugs that is a plus. I am just throwing this out there as im not exactly sure what i want, i can also stretch my budget a bit for the right bike/frame. let me know what you have and pictures would be a huge plus.

    Jose

I once tried to assist a lady trying to buy skis. She was insistant on blue ones since that was what color her outfit was.

Am just about to start another '87 Schwinn SuperTempo build. Frame is Columbus Tenax and just came back form the powder coater with an (expensive) Harley Orange metalflake 2 step finish plus clear coat. Have new Velocals decal set in white for the frame, and a full (and extremely nice) Shimano 600 6403 tricolor 8 speed setup with the extremely rare 8sp down tube shifters, 12/25 cassette, Vittoria Rubino Pro 700 X 25 tires, Cinelli stem and bars, Jagwire housing and Shimano stainless cables, Concours Supercorsa saddle. It will be a beauty, but price will be several hundred above your stated budget. Frame size is a 23", so 57cm CTC on the seat tube and 56 CTC on the top tube.

PM me if interested. Search the threads for my username to see many of my previous builds.

You're in Chicago and I'm driving up to Centenario Bartali next week with Robbietunes, we could possibly meet on the way to save shipping costs.

Are you looking for a 56 cm CT or CC? I have a really nice racing bike made of columbus tubing by a very small British builder called Roe. I don't have good pics at this point though. I'd sell the frame and keep the campy parts. It's my old racing bike (from the late 80s). I ended up having it repainted by Paris Sport in the early 90s with a dupont imron paint job and then never used the bike again as I picked up a team miyata and raced on that instead. It has a lot of really nice details but the bike is BRG (it is a Biritish bike after all), not orange:

I did some research on Steve Roe who built my bike. Here is a thread on the builder:

You don't understand, they were a fashion accessory, to be nearby as she sat at the lodge nursing an appropriate beverage.
