    For sale: 1990 J.P. Weigle frame/fork/headset

I acquired this J.P. Weigle via eBay sale in March of this year, built it up as a go fast with 650B x 32mm tires and a Shimergo drivetrain and had several very nice spring rides on it. Alas, come summer and into fall, I am realizing I have far too many bikes and likely will not appreciate this special build from an American craftsman as much as someone else likely would. Thus, it's for sale.

Measurements are a 60cm seat tube (measured center to top; 58cm c-c) and a 56cm top tube (c-c). Chainstay is 41cm. Serial # is 0960, which I believe indicates a 1990 build. Aero rear brake cable routing. Note that this bike was built for 700c wheels.

In terms of condition, it has been repainted by FreshFrames in PA. When I asked Peter about this bike when it was on auction, he did verify it was indeed built by him though he was not at all crazy about that repaint. It is a bit "thick," and also has a few chips that were touched up (particularly on the left fork blade) not particularly well. The color is, in my eyes, a very dark purple, best seen in bright light, though in most other lights it looks to be black. Otherwise, no dents or dings. Included is a contemporary Campagnolo Record headset and an under BB cable routing guide.

Price is $700 plus shipping in the CONUS from zip 02446. That's a bit less than I paid on auction and quite a good price for a Weigle, in my view, even one that could use a respray.
