Classic Fuji, 1960's
Looking for help identifying this cable stop off a fuji from the 1960's, trying to figure out where it goes, it was taken off by the owner and he doesn't remember where it came from. Thanks for any help

Hi. Seems as though there was a thread on this very thing within the past month, and I believe this cable stop goes on the chain stay near rear derailleur. Hope this helps.

I would also like to see a pictures of the bike. I don't think I've ever seen a Fuji that old.

There was another recent thread about the same part. Someone determined it was for a chainstay protector. I'm not convinced and seems weird to me that the chain is to slap on the U portion? Though the cable hole makes sense. Interesting.

For that matter, it seems that imports of Japanese ROAD bikes to the USA started abruptly with the arrival of the ~1971 bike boom, but perhaps older riders will be better able to comment on this, since my first road bike was a ~1971 Raleigh Record about when I turned 11.
