Marnati in Minnesota - build complete!

Wanted to post pictures of my completed Marnati. Built with Columbus Spirit tubing, Campy Super Record components, Deda cockpit (Superleggero stem, Superleggera bars), Campy Shamal 2-Way Fit rims, Veloflex Corsa tires with latex tubes, Passoni Ti seatpost, Fizik saddle and bar tape, and Elite Ciussi bottle cages. Very proud of my Italian heritage, so building all Italian is a must.

Thanks again to Aaron, Stefano, and of course, Mr. Marnati. Without them, the build wouldn't have been possible.

Thanks for looking!

I really like the distinctive fork crown and the fancy chromed lugs as well.

Very nice contrast with that rich blue color.

That combo will grow old gracefully.

Also, the choice of Spirit is a good one.

I love riding framesets built from Spirit.

Just saw this question, sorry.

Here is a non-scientific response.

If I had a frame made for me of ELOS and another of Spirit, I likely wouldn't be able to tell the difference with my riding style.

I'm barely as aggressive as I used to be on a road bike though.

Both are very smooth, comfortable tubesets with very little flex in the bottom bracket and stays.

It all comes back to frame fit for me though, along with the geo of the frameset.

I would love to have Spirit for my next road bike or all-rounder for that matter.

While color monitors lack color fidelity, I like bikes this color. Smart bar tape choice too.
The Chrome is styling.
Drilled dropouts, how old school race. Endorsed.
Like the tasteful graphics too.

I think Spirit tubing has shorter butted regions, than the pego'

Please do not take this post wrong. There is no hijacking this thread, the original bike is too beautiful. I thought, however, that it might interest some to see the connection between father and son that makes these Marnati bikes so cool. Here is one of the father's, Umberto, bikes (I think). Not a finished item but I'm showing it because I think the similarities are cool.

I like this very much...I'm hoping to have an Umberto to go with my Daniele some day.

I wouldn't mind having either, but first things first around here.

Another Italian racing bike would have to go before I make that decision someday.
