Campagnolo Downtube Shifter Dust Cover

Hi all,

As I took the shifters off of my bike the other day for a good cleaning, one of the dust covers fell off and rolled to who knows where. I thought the good people here might be able to point me in the right direction to getting my hands on another one. (It doesn't necessarily have to be Campy). I scoured eBay and it seems to be slim pickin's unless I want a complete set. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

- Richard

As soon as you get a replacement, you're sure to find the one you lost.

Probably in the shop vac by now.

I think the Campy washer is steel and would be picked up with a magnet.

Unfortunately I was working on it in the yard and it could've rolled anywhere. I guess I'll try my luck with a metel detector tonight.

In the yard? As in…on the lawn? Couldn't have bounced far. But rolled? Uh oh. But as I've found out, small stuff like that can disappear very rapidly on grass. Or even on dirt. Amazes me. I dropped a screw yesterday outside, and the black hole in my yard gobbled it up.

I now work on a pad. No I can't hear it hit but yes it doesn't get road rash or bounce forever out of sight. I am sill trying to stay over the table instead of the floor. I stopped working over grass a long time ago.

No, I was working on the side interlock. Had the Benotto up on the stand and it must've come off without me realizing. I didn't even realize it was gone until I took off the other lever and thought to myself it would be a good time to take inventory of everything. Sure enough it was gone.
