Niagara bike IRL retail store?
I'll be passing though Niagara Falls later this summer. Has anybody bought from Niagara Cycle's brick-and-mortar store there? Can you just walk in and get anything they've got on their site, or is it better to order ahead? Thanks!

No experience with picking things up there, but when I order, the listing typically mentions to wait for an email to ensure it is ready to pick-up, so I would personally order in advance.

I see on their site all the time that items I buy would take a couple days to pick up in their store. At least going to pick them up would be faster than the week+ it sometimes takes to direct ship tires to me.

Still learning
Most bike shops don't stock everything on their web site, but from distributors like QBP. You can order ahead and pick up, but NY sales tax will be in effect.

Once and awhile I get something from Niagara. They have their own website, as well as selling off Amazon and Ebay. Prices for the same exact item can vary from one to the other.

I've read that it's more of a relay place with barely any inventory. They order from suppliers after receiving orders.

OK, so I called them to confirm: for the full product range in the online catalog, you need to order ahead, and yes, NYS sales tax is in effect. They have a retail shop, but it's just an ordinary LBS that stocks a few mass-market bikes and accessories. Will have to weigh shipping costs vs. sales tax vs. convenience of not lugging bike parts home to NC with me.

I've dropped into the retail store while passing through Niagara Falls. As mentioned above, inventory available to walk-in customers was sparse.

I'm Canadian so have picked up orders a few times from the store to save on the scary shipping. The store is a big disappointment - almost nothing there, very few bikes, not as interesting as a normal LBS.

I think the store is just there because some of their suppliers require a brick and mortar storefront. At least I think that's what the kid told me when I stopped in. What the others said, pretty disappointing store.
