Another Merckx Serial Number (?) Question!

I have found an engraved number that runs vertically on the seat tube, adjacent to the Columbus sticker...KLE137534RF...this isn't mentioned in the cadre.org source of serial numbers. Anyone know or have one on their Merckx? Mine is 'gold-filled'.
What does it mean?

Thanks.

Not a Merckx mark. Likely an ID of some sort. Was the bike local to you? It looks like an old DL number to me. At least it was well done.

Hmmm, okay. I bought it off ebay and it came from Berlin. Yes, it is well done. Thanks.

Maybe bike registration for insurance?

My Rivendell carries similar coding on the seat tube.

It came from the Munich area.

Makes sense. No one in America would make so nice an ID mark

Bikes: A green one, "Ragleigh," or something.

+1 on that not being a serial number. For the serial number, tip the bike over and get the numbers that are stamped on the bottom bracket shell. Then consult with Cadre.org info.

Yes, got all that squared away, just wondering about that newly discovered number! It's certainly a "simpler" number marking & noted in my records...God forbid that I'll ever need it!
