Selle Monte Grappa Saddles?
Noticed these the other day whilst perusing the On-One/Planet X website. I think they have an appropriate C&V look to them...
Selle Monte Grappa 1995 Oxford Club Leather Saddle | Planet X
Selle Monte Grappa Old Sporting Leather Saddle | Planet X
Anyone have one? I like the B17 and Flyer that I have, but outfitting my entire fleet with Brooks will cost more that I've spent on cars.
Thanks!

A Red Chinese flag, no less.
But seriously, "The saddle surface made out of real leather and therefore it is very comfortable" I would think means this one of those laminated deals, which like the Gyes(?) or maybe some of those other Brooks-imitatators, may actually be a decent value. It looks kinda cool, in a different sort of way.

I've read lots of bad reports of inexpensive leather saddles. I haven't read any good ones. I suspect that to make a good leather saddle, it costs as much as a good leather saddle. Cheaper stuff isn't worth the money.
If you really want Brooks saddles on all your bikes, wait patiently for deals to come.

I have their leather bar tape, bought from on-one several years ago. Superb quality, nice leather, was used and re-wrapped many times (I frequently rebuild my bikes) and was 1/2 price of the brooks.
However saddles just do not look right to me.
They also have the best prices on FSA Orbit MX headsets (not quite C&V - more for your modern 1 1/8 threadless setup).

Hard to believe, but apparently this is actually an Italian company and at least these "suspended leather on frame" saddles are claimed to be entirely made in Italy. Though they offer many other plastic-shell saddles that are probably made in China or Taiwan. I'm also amazed that "Monte Grappa" isn't a bad attempt at an Italian-sounding name in English from a Chinese marketeer...but it's a real place in the Veneto region.
Selle Montegrappa
None of which speaks for their quality compared to Brooks or other alternatives, but it offers a small hope for better than cr*p quality.
