kabuki mixte
I crossed over to the 70's in feb, now I ponder on how many more years I can swing a leg over my diamond frame bikes. I am starting to have a fixation on a mixte, but I do have to carry it up and down stairs on occasions, making weight an issue. I see some kabuki's listed have cromoly frames, is this true for all kabuki mixtes?

Still learning
If Kabuki mixtes are like Kabuki diamond frames, they are heavy high tensile.
Lotus Mixtes are noticeably lighter than others, with alloy rims.

never have seen any lotus bikes around my area, so a mixte would be an amazing find. i do see several univegas but none yet in a large size.

I have a Kabuki that I've been working on -- nothing but love but I couldn't recommend this bike to anyone as originally built, I've replaced just about everything including the wheelset and drivetrain.

i was planing on a frame rebuild, replacing steel components with alloy, including the wheels. i need at least a 7 speed. i just built a wheel for my 86 bianchi strada with a 126mm 7 speed freehub and 14-32 cassette. 52/40 up front that gets me up most hills. i doubt i could live with a 5/6 speed at this point in history. the clem looks nice but it is over my head price wise.
