I am not keen on any crankset with a non-interchangeable outer chainring, but I do like the frame and the derailleurs. It looks to be in great condition, and it should be a blast to ride.

Looks like theres plenty oif original stuff on it still. SR Royale seatpost, Allez headset, and the rather nice mechs. Rear is the GT version, so up to 32 teeth I believe. Could be my eroica bike...

So far the bad bits are that the HS is really bad, and the paint has something odd going on, like the same colour was used to do a part restoration. Either was, it's the most expensive C&V I've bought and I like it

...when I bought mine from a guy off CL, I didn't figure out the paint had been touched up with a magic marker until I started polishing it.

What a cool mix of parts SR, Campy, Suntour, Weinman, Suntour again, SR again. What are the levers?

Levers are Weinmann. Before I take it out, there are new cables to fit and HS bearings to fix. Really looking forward to it, trying not to just go out for a spin, when it without doubt needs some TLC!

As mush as I love my own Holdsworth Special, yours has so much of the vintage-70's goodness that my '81 lacks completely.

Things like the smoother, two-tone paint, and that headbadge!

But I expect the overall ride is very similar, i.e. a good blend of responsiveness and supple ride.

If there is one thing that I prefer on mine, it's the almost round fork blades. I can't see any good view of yours, might be the same(?).

I just wanted to note, in my self-serving way, that I have a 60 cm Mistral frame (circa 1985) listed inn the "for sale" thread--a pending sale has fallen through. https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vi...ca-1985-a.html

cool man- followed the serial number thread to this one. I just bought a holdsworth yesterday and am trying to learn what I can. took it for a maiden ride today (about 2 blocks)- now i have to go lube and adjust a bunch of stuff before i go any further. mine is a bit later than yours with a much more boring paintjob- but no complaints! its "classy"

similar high quality but sort of random mix of suntour, sr, campagnolo, and avocet.

First ride this morning! Apart from the bent pedal axles and too small/flexy toe clips, it was blinkin lovely. I put some 700c wheel on instead of the original 27x1.25 But I don't figure that would have changed the handling much.
Plenty of tweaking to do, and a winter respray (decals ordered) but very happy.

@Oldpeddaller They are bloody lovely I have to say. Accidentally won a third one on ebay last week, and if @verktyg ever sells his Professional frame I want to be first in line. I suspect there may be fisticuffs at dawn for it, and I'm on the wrong continent, but I can dream...
