The completed Merckx, at least for now

Assembled and road tested the Merck finally. Happy with it, but I'll be making some changes. Bars and stem will be the first to go. The shifters and brakes will be replaced with Chorus units as I find them.
It's no show bike, but I like it.
Build details:
Chorus crankset, RD, and FD
Veloce Monoplanars
Mirage 9 shifters
Proton wheels
Conti UltraSport tires
No name seatpost
Super Turbo saddle
Galli roller bearing headset
Phil Wood BB
Pics:

Lighting makes the color look darker than it really is. Alan matched the original color very well.

Nicely done! Looks like a blast to ride and I dig the paint color.

It's hard to make out the repaint decal. You mention Alan. Who did the painting?

I didn't realize there was a Veloce version of the monoplanar calipers. Learned something new.

Great looking build. What's the reach on that stem? I'm looking to replace the 130mm 3t on my Lemond with something shorter.

@rccardr, thanks for the push I needed. Very happy I went through with it.
@gomango, I've got a few miles on it already. Really like it.
@gaucho777, Alan Wanta did the repair/repaint.
@romperrr, the stem is 110mm, IIRC.

Way cool. Settle in, get it dialed in, then don't look back.

Working on getting it dialed in. It's almost easy to get myself in trouble with it, as it's way more capable than my meager abilities can match.

Not sure how I missed this thread awhile back, but great work @nesteel. Projects like this are what it's all about IMHO and this one was worth the effort. I hope I get the chance to try a Merckx myself someday -- they exude class and I'm sure they ride as good as they look. Enjoy!

It's about to be upgraded. Swapping the groups between the Torpado (Chorus 9/Racing T setup) and the Merckx.
