Our daughter went to Middlebury, so some of the scenery will be familiar!
Any specific dates? Maybe I could head west for the day and crash your party? Although I hear that Vermonters charge New Hampshire riders an entrance fee.

Bob, It's a Sojourn Tour, starts Sunday the 16th, goes all week. Pretty sure we start around Middlebury and finish up near Burlington.
Couple of days we're on our own for lunch, would be happy to meet up with you. One night we do dinner away from the group, same thing there.

Might not work out in that Mrs. PB is out of town that week. I would need to arrange "dog care" for the day. I'll see what I can manage, however. Probably the closer you are to Burlington, the better for me. I live about 2.5 hours southeast.

No need to sweat here in northern New England. Rarely get's hot enough! However, since Burlington is almost at sea level, I might find myself smothered by the thicker atmosphere. Could be challenging for me in NJ the end of September!

I am hoping to come this time and will likely ride a bike from the 50's or 60's. If work and family allow, I will try and organize a shorter vintage ride in September in South Jersey to build up to this.

I might be in if my kids do not have anything planned for my wedding anniversary on the 28th, 35 years of bliss for me and too many years of hell for my sweetie.
I will be back in the States Sept 8 and might be able to get my Raleigh Grand Prix up and running for this.

@BluesDaddy and I met this past Saturday for a training "Ride Round Ragged Mt." Turned out to be just a bit over 42 miles, so a bit short of the 50 we had guessed it might be. However, we were "hard men" in that about 27 of those miles were pure gravel grinding bliss!

I rode my '71 Paramount and Joel was on his Peugeot Sturmey Archer AW hybrid. Cool setup he has cobbled together. The AW has two sprockets for a high and a low range of gears. This makes Joel, in my eyes at least, a really "hard man!"

Next up on our schedule to meet and ride is the "Ride Round Winni" (Lake Winnipesaukee) August 14, "The Mount Kearsarge Hill Climb" race August 29, and in early September "Ride Round Kearsarge" mountain.

Hopefully I'll be in fitting shape for the NJ "Harvest Hustle" by the end of September. Pictures NOW!

Ragged Mt. from where I live, nestled in the clouds. @BluesDaddy lives on the other side.

Joel on the final climb just before we reach his town on the other side of Ragged. The "Hard Man" on his SA-AW!

Joel at Mileage Marker 100, or a Century to Boston!

The "Hard Man" drivetrain!

My Paramount still looking clean. It was quite the mess by the time I got home!

I'm in. Where is the Motel? Who is planning the route? If you need help, I can volunteer to help with organizing.

I did a solo century this month, so I should survive this one. And @pastorbobnlnh, September is rarely very hot in NJ.

I doubt it. @rhm is further south along US 1 between Princeton and Trenton.

"Hot," like "saddle comfort," is a subjective term.

Here in the NH mountains we have yet to see the temps reach beyond mid 80F, and everyone thinks it is sweltering. It was 51F when we started our ride Saturday morning and only reached 68F.

Aha, I found it. https://www.hojo.com/hotels/new-jerse...hotel-overview

I don't know why I didn't find it on the first try.

I wish I could move to your area in the summer. It sounds gloriously warm without being hot. I might even like your winters.

Thanks for the pics, Bob! For the record, the "Hard Man" had a gimpy left knee by the end of the ride. I'm blaming my mashing riding style. Having only 5 gear ratios might have played in to that.
