C&V Rides with Bladed Spokes?
I have an '88 Trek 560...
I have a set of silver Mavic Ksyrium Equipes (resplendent in their 18/20 bladed-spoke glory)...
If we put aside all the complexities of spacing, speeds and all that...is combining the two a resto-mod of the highest order, or the worst kind of Frankenbike?
I keep having flashbacks of the Hetchins early on in the Retro-Roadies thread...I don't want to be that guy...
I have a Shimano 600-hubbed wheelset for this bike, but those Equipes are nice...and they are de-stickered so no flashy logos...

As long as those wheels have spokes are not square, I doubt if most people you will encounter while riding the bike will notice that they are modern and not C&V like your bike.....

I like the look...especially after I replaced the black and yellow Michelins (came with the wheelset) with Rubino Pros...

Fine with me. I used bladed Ksyriums on a De Rosa, and a couple of Ironman bikes.
I also used them on a D'Arienzo, replaced them with bladed Campy wheels.
In particular, Mavic appeal to me because of the swappable freehub.
Strong, bladed, pretty. No big deal. Rock 'em.

I like the "original" look myself. But there isn't any need to be fanatical ether. The 560 is a simple straight forward classic bike. It should look great with new Mavic's.
