Will a 2.2 tire fit in a Tange mtn Fork?

I was all ready to hit BIN, when I realized that I have no clue if a 2.2 inch tire will fit in a Tange investment cast fork? I hate to order and find out they only fit at low pressure. You vintage mountain bike guys, help me out here?,,,,BD

The fork, standard early to mid 80's Tange... That's a 2.1 in it right now, with ample clearance.

Using hex wrenches as feeler gauges to figure out where you have the least clearance.

I'd expect that if you have at least 0.1" between the fork and tire in all directions, then a 2.2" tire should fit fine.

I have a folding 2.3 specialized tire. I am going to pop that in the forks and see what happens, heh. Thanks for the help so far.,,,,BD

The 2.3 barely fit in a unicrown, unless it was run at lower pressure.

I have the assorted other parts coming today. Chrome cog, Nexus shifting bits, clamps for the coaster brake and front drum hub that is to come shortly. These are the rims, but I have to get the front wheel built by a friend when the hub finally comes. I ordered it Thursday before last, in other words a week and 4 days ago.,,,,BD
