Yeah- I get to about mile 7 and my hands really want a break from the 2 or 3 variations on hand positions on the flat bars. The stem I've got on my High Sierra doesn't have enough rise to it- I'm looking forward to it!

Is '96 vintage?

How about 1997?

Totally forgot about this one. It's probably pretty new, but olde style. Triton Baron with 26" front and 700c rear. I think these are made by Huffy, not totally sure, though.

Never tried them, but I really like Campagnolo MTB groups.

Here is my early 90s Canadian made Peugeot. Low end components but a nice CroMo frame. Slowly replacing components from 100GS to a mix of better stuff. Currently have a SIS RD and Suntour XCD FD

I believe that's not a touring group, but rather a second-gen Euclid group. King of cool, anyway.

My only bike with North Road bars, a 1990 Schwinn Sierra, my entry into the "El Cheapo" contest earlier this year.

Swapped to a 80mm adjustable stem and rode 10 miles this morning, it felt better but I'm going to play with angles and may even swap the orientation of the bars. I have about 10 weeks to get it dialed in before the trip.
