Sears tote a cycle rear hub

Just picked up a tote a cycle at auction for $50 , cosmetically challenged but mechanically seems very good. It has a Tornado 3-speed shifter and hub with grease fitting . Does anyone know if this is stock? I've just seen the sturmey archer on these bikes.

Are you sure it says Tornado rather than Torpedo? Steyr built a great many bicycles with Torpedo three-speed and two-speed hubs. they are made by Fichtel & Sachs. Name would make a difference in case you wish to do some searching.

Readers would be able to give more useful responses if you were able to include pictures of the bicycle.

More excuses to post pix!

It's like an internet rule- "pix or it didn't happen."

Best!

I have definitely seen the F&S Torpedo hub on a Totecycle. The trigger was on the seat tube under the saddle. Actually, I think the hub was a Bendix, made on license from F&S.

Yes it is torpedo not tornado , it has the shifter mounted under the seat. It looked like tornado under all the dirt.
