The Lemond looks great but your Merckx is lovely! I would stick with the Merckx for sure!

My (beater) LeMond Zurich is too small for me, so maybe I'm a poor judge, but dang, that Reynolds 853+carbon fork is a nice combo. OTO, my Merckx is of a similar vintage and build as yours and I don't like any of my bikes better. But that one actually fits me, too.

Are those Campy brakes on the Merckx? Pre-Trek Lemond?
I like my Lemond, but the Merckx looks like a better bike.
BUT.... the most important issue is which one feels better to you on the road.

Yes these are campy delta brakes on this merckx. not sure if this Lemond is pre-trek

I used to own a LeMond Zurich (2001) and I currently own a Merckx Mx Leader (1992). Not even close. Stick with the Merckx!

Lemond doesn;t even have lugs, just tig welded. I loved mine before it was stolen, but I'd trade you 2 Lemonds for your Merckx.

You have a Corsa Extra in your size & you want to get rid of it? Have you ever heard of decisions you'll always regret? Man, if I could only have 3 bikes I'd have a corsa extra in 3 different sizes. One for climbing days, one for all around days & one for long casual rides. There just aren't many frames, modern or vintage that are better. seriously

If you just want to give away your Merckx, I'll gladly accept it - I can probably trade you some belly button lint for it.
Seriously though, as others have stated, yours is the much nicer of the two and I would not got for that trade unless there's a heap of cash also included.

In 2013 I had a Corsa Extra for a year and did more than a 1,000 miles as I did with my '98 Zurich that year. If I had a lot of climbing to do I would go with the Zurich + cash. You could then get rid of those stock boat anchor wheels on the Zurich and love the climbs. For most of the vast majority of riding in the USA the Merckx is much better value and thanks to the SLX I am sure you enjoy your ride. As an aside, the weld beads on my Zurich are terrible, the Eddie was sweet in all respects, it is all up to you.
