When end can we expect pics of those Raleighs? Don't be holding out on us!
Lots of nice projects here. Nothing special on my end, but 4 in the queue.
1-finish up cehowardGS's 1985 Raleigh Racing USA Grand Prix, 90% there.
2-retrograde a 1987 D'Arienzo from modern Campy "down" to Suntour GPX. Whole new look to the bike.
--need an Italian BB and to build the wheels with GPX hubs to NOS tubular rims. (thanks, pastorbob & Henry III)
--the 52/42 and 13-24 7-sp will "force" me to seriously train for the Dairyland Dare next year.
3-another for cehowardGS (who is in the hospital), a 1985 Raleigh Racing USA Gran Prix. Medium-level upgrades....
4-lastly, for cehowardGS, an '89 Centurion Dave Scott Ironman Master. A 20-lb 60cm steel bike. Needs everything.

What do you have in the works? Now that summer is drawing to a close, do you have projects filling up the queue? I know some people prefer to wait until everything is complete before spoiling the big reveal. Any one have some sneak peaks they want to share? Or just tell us about it.
Cheers, Eric

My workshop is in an uninsulated barn with no heat. I have done a little work there in the winter, but only in short spurts. I brought in a space heater, and it probably helped, but it was hard to be sure.

I thought it would not be too hard for the Italophiles to figure it out from the picture.
I wasn't asking for the individual makers, just which were Italian.
There's a Masi GC, an Eisentraut Limited, a Gios Torino Super Record, and a Colnago Mexico.
Cheers, Eric

No c&v at this point.
All roaders only.
Serotta/Winter for my buddy.

Twin Six rando for me.
Cheap thrills.
Both likely with full Ultegra 6800. Wheelsets are either CX75/H Plus Sons or XT/H Plus Sons. Nitto stems, seatposts and bars.
Compass or Bruce Gordon tires.
Maybe one for my wife as well, but I have no idea if she will even get it by spring.
An Elephant NFE.
They are getting popular. Not much else like them on the market right now.
Especially at that price point.
All of these have disc wheelsets.

I had seen the Elephant NFE, but had no idea it was available at such a low price point.
Also, the Twin 6 is an unbeatable deal for anyone looking for that specific type of geometry/tire clearance. Thanks for the heads up on these, Gomango!

Royale.
Just got around to cleaning this frame and all it's bits.
Once through with the wheels and an order of fresh rubber it'll be back together again.
Still not sure if this is to sell or a new winter beater...

Miyata 618 GT.
I just picked up a wheelset with tires this weekend. The wheels cost me a bit of cash, plus a bench grinder that was rolling around in the back of the Jeep.
It`s almost done. I just need a derailleur, handlebars, and to decide what brake levers to use,

Trek 660. It's a parts bin build. I've already swapped out the 7-speed Uniglide freehub for a Hyperglide model and have a wider range cassette to go on it. It's hilly here, the gearing on the bike was not to my taste so I am switching to a triple crankset. The only triple I had on hand was a Campy Mirage. It's now on the bike. I set aside the stem, handlebar, and Shimano aero levers and will replace them with a short drop, short reach handlebar with Tektro aero levers. I am moving the 7-speed down-tube shifters to pods to turn them into bar end shifters. I'd like to fit 28mm tires on the wheels. We'll see.

I am working on this. Had a few issues with the wheels and hubs. Yes, the handlebars are being replaced, and the cable housing. Initially, I didn't like the black Royale Gran Compe brakes, but they have grown on me. The frame came with Campy SR derailleurs, headset, seatpost. I am trying to return the bike to full Campy. The whole build is a little odd, but I will have a truly unique bike when its done.

Pedalin' Erry Day
This is the only project I have going on, aside from putting my winter beater back together again, just waiting for this frame (a Centurion Ironman by any other name) to come back from powdercoat:
I have the parts all ready to go back on - spot the differences?

1983 Bianchi Limited, which I bought several years ago in a lot of five bikes, never used much, never built up to my satisfaction, sold last spring for $225 with a crap wheel set, bought it back a couple weeks ago for $100 (same crap wheel set) and am trying to figure out what to do with. Tried to set it up with 3x7 RSX brifters I got in the C&V for sale thread. The 7 side works a treat, but the 3 just doesn't want to cooperate. Will probably start a thread seeking advice on that. Put on a 700c Askium wheel set I recently bought, with those racy bladed spokes.
Shortly before the pic was taken, I took off the left brifter, the FD and the 105 RD, installed a Campagnolo Rally RD (!), and I''l be hornswoggled if it doesn't shift across a 12-30 eight-speed HG cassette (almost) perfectly. Chainguard on the pavement is one I'm considering retrofitting in the event I decide to repaint and make this bike a fendered 1x7 or 1x8.
I haz a confooz; is the RSX brifter set actually a 3x8? Vintage Campagnolo compatible? WTF?
( And yes, I know you're all jealous of my beautiful work stand )

The Serotta is gorgeous in person. Unfortunately the fellow I picked it up from slightly mismeasured the tt but it happens to fit a riding buddy quite well.
Normally I put Campy on everything, but I must admit to falling for the new Shimano Ultegra groupset.
So, right now it looks like an Ultegra 11 speed groupset, a White Industries compact crank, Compass Stampede pass tires, Nitto stem/seatpost, and a CX75/H Plus Son's wheelset.
He'll likely do a custom front rack if he can get Joel at Clockwork to do one or just pick up a Nitto or Tubus for the front. The frameset was built to handle a small bag up front and not much more.
He'll likely order a Swift bag of some sort, so he'll stop using mine all the time.
As for the Twin Six, I wanted an inexpensive all road frameset and I didn't want to do c&v this time.
I've been reading good reviews and at $600 for the frameset, fenders, seat collars and a couple of other bits I figured it would be worth a shot.
My build will be identical to my friend's but I might have to go for a little heavier duty wheelset.
I've got all winter to figure it out.
As for the NFE, it might pose as one of the best new frameset values out there.imho
Again, great reviews, tons of utility, a love it or hate it color and a great value.
I would build the NFE the same as the other two.
The only deviation would be to use the extra wide Bruce Gordon Rock n Roads on this one for my wife.
This would check off a lot of boxes for her and if she decides to do more road riding we can switch to Compass Barlow Pass 700x38's.

My rando bike got me across the finish line at PBP with time to spare, but I'm still not completely happy with it. I think with some more "zip", I would ride it a lot more outside of brevets. I'll post more details in its thread when I'm further along (still gathering parts and tweaking existing ones), but suffice to say that it is stripped back almost to the frame at this point.

Such beautiful builds in the works here! Amazing talent by some and great eye to detail.
Call me the bottom feeder. Aside from building the tribute bikes for the kids, I've gathered most of the ingredients to build this ratty Viner Record.
Last weekend cold set it for an 8 speed and mostly will be fitted for Chorus Ergo. These days I'm more into the older stuff but will be interesting to see how this one performs. Its a super budget build and one I won't worry if it gets stolen in college town. Otherwise, it may end up as a guest loaner. I'm still in the need for a ratty or scratched up Chorus rear derailleur.

I got tired of waiting for a 68cm Rivendell Atlantis(no longer made) to become available, so I decided to build my own poor mans Atlantis. The idea was a simple parts swap from my Mongoose hybrid.
This frame has a bit of patina but I love the blue so I just frame savered it and will hold off on paint until I really have to.
Of course a simple part swap is never part a simple part swap. I plan on switching the handlebars, brakes and using a better wheel set I had. So the Mongoose will likely remain a ride-able bike also.

I just finished a Raleigh Olympian city bike build. It started life in South Dakota and ended up on the ocean shore of Maryland. I am glad that the paint was in good shape, because the alloy parts were pitted by the salt air. I found a great CL deal on a pair of 650B wheels, and tires on sale. I added VO city brake levers and stuff from my parts bin.

Late 30's Velox "Alvin'" Alvin Drysdale. I can't figure if I should repaint it or not. Disassembling the bike was a real pleasure. Whoever owned this bike was a true mechanic. Everything came apart like it was assembled yesterday. Even the drive side cup. Lots of grease & tight enough/no tighter. Thats my policy.
