How Does One Pronounce Suntour's Cyclone?

As there, apparently, is multiple ways to pronounce "Superbe," it only stands to reason that "Cyclone" isn't what I think it is.

Additionally, does it matter what bike it's on as to it's pronunciation?

Like on an Italian bike, would it be "see clone ay" or something?

Once I wrap my head around this- I'm going to tackle how to pronounce "AR," and those tricky guys also throw a curveball with the "ARX."

Does "Cyclone" have to bow before El Nino? (which is Spanish for... the Nino)

I've always pronounced it "Sigh-clone" (which is apropos because I sigh a lot when my lab cloning projects don't work).

Then again, I also pronounce Dura Ace as "Dura-ace", and not as "Dura-ah-chay".

It depends. First generation 'cyclone' is spoken with more enthusiasm than the later versions.

I'm curious about "105". Since it's the only one in Shimano's lineup without a name, should we refer to it as "ios" now?

There's an official pronunciation guide here.

Forgetting trendiness and the desire sound European, consider that most Japanese bicycle trademarks are aimed at the North American markets, so Englsih looking names are intended to be English, and are pronounced as such. Cyclone, as in a hurricane or similar storm. Dura Ace, a blend of Durable and Ace.

I used to import SR litage frames and never got over the fact that folks would pronounce it lit-ahge, not realizing that it's light age, as the lightweight era. Meanwhile, I have a good friend in Italy who has the opposite issue. She spent many years in the USA and is used to our brands and pronunciations. She goes ballistic when her friends discuss household brands like TeeDay and Colgahteh, among others[B].
