Would love to hook up with you when you come through Ellensburg - what's your timing for that?

Just saw your PM and realized that I'm going to have to miss the Iron Horse Trail ride. Just don't have anything currently set up for the gravel - and I don't get the MTB until the 3rd of October
I'll be following your blog, tho. Maybe we can catch up on a pavement-portion of your visit?

Very cool!
I enjoyed this...don't forget the tape!
My initial plan was to have The Secretor ship me the bike ahead of departure so I could "assemble" it for him. Assembly was to include removing the seatpost and filling the frame with sand, which would hopefully give me the handicap needed to stay with him on the long climbs. Smart to that, he decided to use bikeflights and ship it to Seattle, fly up, reassemble himself, and catch up with me in Cle Elum.
Plan B was to wait until he was asleep, and put scotch tape on the disc brakes. Failing that, plan C was to train harder.
Yeah, right. I've got the roll of scotch tape in one of my handlebar bag pockets.

I'm looking forward to reading about this trip.
Looks like you forgot to bring a bungie strap so that the fast guys can help out on the climbs . . . .
that's my secret weapon,

Every time I do this thing, there'll be at least one day that the only thing I can think of, the only thing that keeps me turning the pedals, is the thought of that pint up ahead...

I'm getting a ride to Cle Elum Friday night, will be at the "ride" Saturday morning, then biking back to Seattle on Sunday. Debating what bike to ride but I will have a saddlebag big enough to hold a half rack of Duffs! See you there and enjoy your ride up the pass.

Got back yesterday from the Epic Tour 2015 in the state of Washington-which is a beautiful place to ride in!
I kept a journal on the Crazy Guy on a Bike site
Met some great guys from the forum:
@northbend was kind enough to meet me in North Bend to share a beer way past his bedtime on a school night and share stories. His knowledge of the Seattle area bike scene is vast and deep.
@scozim took time from his Friday to guide us through the metropolis of Ellensburg and halfway down Yakima Canyon, pointing out things I would have missed-such as the herd of Bighorn Sheep I took pictures of. A picture of him on his classic Gitane, leading us down the canyon:
and @Drillium Dude, missed seeing the Master of the Box O' Crap, next time!
To all, if you're travelling and riding somewhere away from home, make sure you post your sked, you might have a chance to meet some great people from the forum!
